Method and assumptions

Give every unique line an equal chance and select an index using browser cryptographic randomness when available. You can also remove each picked item from later draws, while the choice list and recent results stay in the current page. This is not a certified system for legal drawings, gambling, or audited selections.

How to use it

  1. Enter one distinct choice on each line.
  2. Optionally remove previously picked items from later draws.
  3. Select Pick at random and review the result and recent history.

When it helps

  • Choosing a meal or next task
  • Setting a classroom presentation order without repeats
  • Picking the next idea for a team to review

How to verify the result

Check input units and reference dates first. For an important decision, compare the result with an official source or original document. A rounded display can differ slightly from the underlying value.

Frequently asked questions

Does every choice have the same probability?

Yes. Empty and duplicate lines are removed, then each remaining item receives equal probability. With removal enabled, probability is shared equally among items still available.

What is cryptographic randomness?

It is randomness supplied by the operating system and browser that is designed to be harder to predict than an ordinary pseudo-random call. The tool prefers it when available.

Can I use this for a regulated prize drawing?

It is useful for informal choices but provides no certified audit trail. Use an approved drawing process for promotions governed by rules or law.
